My next stop was on the west coast of Thailand. I had planned to head out to the islands on the west coast but I wound up just staying on the mainland and taking a day trip to a few islands. Ao Nang is a nice resorty town that saw limited damage from the tsunami last year but everything has been repaired. I enjoyed my first Thai massage while in Ao Nang and I took a day trip on one of the long tail boats that are used to ferry people between the islands.
